Our Mission: Reducing Unemployment by Creating Opportunity Together

SMARCH exists to reduce unemployment by helping people build real opportunity together. One survey, one queue, matched teams, and a guided 6-week programme create a more human path forward than endless repeated applications.

Our Mission

SMARCH exists because unemployment is not only an economic issue. It is also a human one. It affects confidence, health, stability, and the sense that your effort still leads somewhere.

Too many people do everything they are told to do—update the CV, write the application, wait politely, try again—and still end up stuck in a process that offers very little clarity in return.

We believe the answer cannot only be “apply more”. It also has to include a better structure for creating opportunity together.

Why We Built SMARCH

SMARCH is a structural response to unemployment. Instead of asking people to repeat the same admin work across endless platforms, we start with one survey.

  • You tell us about your background, strengths, interests, and how you prefer to collaborate.
  • Your profile enters one queue, not dozens of disconnected application systems.
  • From there, we form matched teams and invite participants into a guided 6-week programme.

The goal is simple: reduce wasted effort, create clearer next steps, and help people move toward real opportunity together.

A More Human Starting Point

Traditional hiring processes often treat unemployment like something that should be hidden. Gaps must be explained away. Silence becomes normal. People are expected to keep performing confidence even when the process is exhausting.

SMARCH starts from a different assumption: people deserve dignity, structure, and a fair chance to build momentum again.

What We Mean by “Creating Opportunity Together”

When we say SMARCH helps people create opportunity together, we do not mean that everyone is left alone to figure everything out by themselves.

We mean the opposite:

  • People are matched into complementary teams.
  • Each person contributes from their own strengths and interests.
  • The work is guided through a practical weekly structure.
  • Teams move from uncertainty toward clearer direction, useful work, and realistic next steps.

For some teams, that may lead toward a longer-term collaboration. For others, it may create portfolio material, practical evidence of capability, stronger confidence, or visibility that helps with the next step. The purpose is not hype. The purpose is movement.

Important: SMARCH is not built around the idea that people should just “wait to be chosen”. It is built around helping participants build something meaningful with others while moving toward work, traction, and direction.

Why Teams Matter

Many people have skills, ideas, or motivation—but not the full mix needed to turn those into something practical on their own. That is why SMARCH focuses on teams rather than only individual placement.

In a strong team:

  • one person may bring technical skills,
  • another may bring design or communication strength,
  • another may bring structure, planning, outreach, or operations.

Together, that creates a more realistic base for progress than isolated effort alone. We are not trying to force identical people into the same room. We are trying to create combinations that make collaboration more viable.

What Success Means to Us

Success at SMARCH is not measured only by whether someone gets an immediate offer. It also includes whether people:

  • regain momentum,
  • build something concrete with others,
  • develop clearer direction,
  • produce useful material and evidence of capability,
  • move closer to meaningful work.

That work can eventually create new paths—through team continuation, practical collaborations, small early income, or optional visibility to hiring partners as a secondary route. But the primary purpose stays the same: helping people create new opportunity together.

The Future We Want to Help Build

We want a labour market where people are not reduced to keywords, gaps, and rejection statistics. We want a process that recognises human potential earlier, supports collaboration, and gives people a more constructive way to move forward.

That is why SMARCH combines:

  • one survey,
  • one queue,
  • matched teams,
  • guided collaboration,
  • and clearer communication.

We are building an alternative to the application treadmill—one that is grounded, practical, and centred on people.
